Naturally Clean Your Oil Diffuser A Supernatural DIY
08-03-2021Learning how to clean a diffuser is pretty simple. To clean an essential oil diffuser you need only water, white vinegar, and high-quality essential oils.
Essential oil diffusers are growing more in popularity every day. Using them helps to disperse essential oils into the air, creating a calming vapor that is more readily used by your body. However, over time, the oils can build up, bugs can get in, and mold can even begin to grow. Thankfully, we’ve discovered a simple and natural way to easily clean your beloved essential oil diffuser!
Best Way to Clean Your Essential Oil Diffuser
Tip: Make sure to use only high-quality essential oils in your diffuser, Supernatural Essential Oil Blends are consciously crafted from the purest plants, minerals, and essential oils.
Begin by emptying the diffuser and carefully washing with warm water and mild soap. Then set the parts aside to dry out individually.
Once the diffuser is dry, put the diffuser back together.
Next, add fresh distilled water and 10 drops of white vinegar (If you are cleaning a larger oil diffuser, increase to 20 drops of white vinegar).
Turn on your Oil Diffuser and let it run for about 10 minutes. This will disperse vinegar into the air, so you may want to run the diffuser outside. Another alternative is to place it in the shower or tub and turn the bathroom fan on.
Once the diffuser has run for about 10 minutes, turn it off and empty the diffuser again and give a quick rinse. Add back in fresh distilled water and let the diffuser run again for about 10 minutes. This will help diffuse out any leftover vinegar.
Finally, rinse out the diffuser for the last time and add back in fresh distilled water, then add a cleansing essential oil such as the Supernatural Nourishing Blend, made with lavender, peppermint, fir, palmarosa, and basil. Your Essential Oil Diffuser has been re-energized and you can now add back in your favorite blends!
Why Vinegar to Clean an Essential Oil Diffuser?
White vinegar is distilled to remove any particles or impurities. It is called white, but it is actually clear. It is often stronger than apple cider vinegar, making it a great cleansing agent. Vinegar helps to break up oils and can also help to dissolve minerals. Using tap water in an area that has lime in the water can leave a build-up of minerals in your diffuser unit. The vinegar will help to break that down.
To keep your Essential Oil Diffuser running at its best, be sure to use fresh distilled water and Supernatural’s Essential Oil Blends, made with only the purest and natural essential oils.
